Now entering its twentieth year judging the world's best contemporary illustration, 3x3 Magazine is looking to spotlight the best contemporary international artists they can find and encourage a new focus on the use of illustration by the global editorial, advertising and design communities.
There are two main categories: Professional Show and Student Show.
3x3 Magazine is looking for fresh ideas that enlarge the scope of illustration, images that engage us, that make us think, that make us appreciate more fully the craft of illustration. It celebrates those image-makers that are either on the brink of greatness or those who continue to prove themselves year after year.
Please note: with all the discussions happening around AI-generated artwork, know that you can submit only illustrations where the illustrator or their representative or publication hold the copyright. As we understand, AI-generated images cannot be copyrighted, artists only have usage rights.
Entry fees start at 15 USD and vary depending on the Show entered and the type of work submitted. Entries uploaded after 31 March 2023 will be assessed a 10 USD per entry late fee.

Eligibility
Open to all illustrators, art directors, graphic designers, educators, students, recent graduates, editors, publishers in all countries for commissioned, non-commissioned and personal work produced or published between March 2022 and March 31, 2023.
Prize
Best of Show winner receives 1500 USD, gold medal winners receive 750 USD and Gary Powell Student Award winner receives 1000 USD. Awards include best of show, gold, silver and bronze medals as well as distinguished merit and merit awards and honorable mentions. All winners will be promoted online and in the press. Also, winners receive a digital edition of the complete annual and placement on 3x3 Magazine online gallery.
