3x3 magazine

is entering its twelfth year judging the world's best contemporary illustration. Their mission is to spotlight the best contemporary international artists they can find and encourage a new focus on the use of illustration by the global editorial, advertising and design communities.

Advertising, Animation, Annual Reports, Books, Calendars, Corporate Communication, Covers, Cartoons & Comics, Editorial-separate categories for conceptual, food and beverage, portraits, sports, travel and lifestyle- Fashion, Gallery, Greeting Cards, Graphic Novels, Packaging, Posters, Stamps, Sci-Fi, Self-Promotion, Sequential, Textiles & Patterns, Three-Dimensional and Unpublished

Picture Book Show

- categories include

Children’s Book, Young Adult, Book Covers, Children’s Illustration, Educational, Editorial, Children’s Programming

Miscellaneous

category that includes packaging and products for young children.

Student Show

- while most shows have an open category for student shows, the

Student Show

's categories this year include illustration, animation, sci-fi, and books.

Moreover, this year there's a new

Student

category for children’s books illustrations.

The goal is to bring together artists from all countries to share their creative output in an impartial judging scenario. All judging is done digitally by a set of unbiased judges; if a particular judge has either commissioned the work or has been the illustrator they are not allowed to vote on their entry.
