International Short Comics Story Competition

The International Festival of Comics and Games is held annually in Lodz. It is the largest Polish and assumed to be one of the largest in Central and Eastern Europe comic con. Each year a comic contest is held, where a special jury, composed of comic professionals and publishers, chooses the best short comic submitted for the contest.

The allowed techniques are:

• Drawing
• Painting
• Digital art
• Photography

There is no given theme of the works, and a participant (as individual artist or as a group) can submit one complete and full story, up to 8 pages. The pages should be in a vertical A4 (210 x 297 mm) or A3 (297 x 420 mm) format. When sending original pages, copies or prints you should enclose a CD or DVD with the digital version of the work (tiff or jpg, CMYK, 300 DPI).

The participation fee is 30 PLN for participants from Poland, 10 Euro (approx. 11 USD) for participants from other countries.

Eligibility


Open to anyone worldwide.

Prize


• Grand Prix: 6000 PLN (approx. 1,600 USD)
• 1st prize: 4000 PLN (approx. 1,060 USD)
• 2nd prize: 3000 PLN (approx. 800 USD)
• 3rd prize: 2000 PLN (approx. 530 USD)
• Three special awards: 1000 PLN each (approx. 260 USD)

The results will be announced on October 3, 2015. All participants will be granted free entry to all festival events, and works from this competition will be shown at the exhibition during the Festival.
