World Illustration Awardspromotes exceptional work by illustrators and presents illustration as a major force in global visual culture. The Awards are international and open worldwide to illustrators working across
all sectors and in any medium.
Following WIA’s most successful year ever in
2018, they are delighted to announce an array of brand-new prizes for
2019, giving more chance than ever for winning illustrators to gain recognition and opportunities for career growth.
Work must be entered into one of the 8 categories. These are very broadly defined to welcome work of all types and in all contexts where illustration is used:

ResearchWork must be entered as either a
New Talententry or a
Professionalentry.
New Talententrants are students or those within 2 years of graduation / entering the illustration world.
Professionalentrants are all other professional illustrators.
Entrants can submit as many entries as they choose and in as many different categories as they feel is appropriate.
Entry fees:

Open worldwide to illustrators over the age of 18. The work you enter can be in any medium, and realised or published in any format. The work doesn’t have to be commissioned but has to have been created or published after
1 January 2018.
Prize
One of the eight Professional Category Winners is named as the
WIA2019 Overall Professional Winnerat a prestigious ceremony in central London and will receive a generous cash prize of 2,000 GBP, a WIA Trophy, and a two-page marketing package in the Directory of Illustration No. 36 (
valued at 4,330 USD), including a 200-image professional portfolio on
directoryofillustration.complus a one-on-one consultation with a professional Directory of Illustration marketing consultant on how to best present your work to the American market.
Moreover, this year, the AOI is proud to announce the introduction of three new prizes: an AOI Member’s Prize, a Directory of Illustration Award, and SAA Agents Award for New Talent. Prizes include agent representation, portfolio promotion and business support.
All Award-Winning and Highly Commended projects will feature in a
UK-wide touring exhibitionand receive a digital badge for their website.
