As part of the 33nd edition of the

Just for Laughs Festival

taking place from

July 11-25th 2015

in Montreal (Canada), the

Just for Laughs International Visual Arts Contest

is calling to visual artists (

graphic designers, painters, designers, photographers, sculptors, videographers, etc.

) from all over the world to submit a new or existing piece of work illustrating in a humorous manner this yearʼs theme:

Dark Humor

For a

two-dimensional

work to be admissible, its dimensions must not exceed 36 inches x 44 inches (

92 cm x 112 cm

). For a

three-dimensional

work to be admissible, its dimensions must not exceed 11 inches x 11 inches, with a height of 19 inches (

28 cm x 28 cm x 49 cm

).

Selected artists will be contacted by

June 8th

in order to proceed with the shipping of their work.

Just for Laughs International Visual Arts Contest

is open to anyone worldwide.

Prize

The

Finalist's Exhibition

will feature works by visual artists selected by a multidisciplinary jury from hundreds of participants, literally transforming

Sainte-Catherine Street

into the

Boulevard of the Arts

, in the heart of Montrealʼs Quartier des Spectacles.

Winners of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and "Publicʼs Choice" prizes will receive

award and honorary mentions

. Moreover, the 1st prize winner will be awarded

2,500 CAD

(approx. 2,085 USD).
