will mark the sixteenth year for one of the most internationally renowned design competitions for young designers – the starting point for a successful design career for many of the chosen participants.

The

Pure Talents Contest

is conceived exclusively for designers who are still pursuing their studies or have just left university. The competition, organized by

Koelnmesse

on the occasion of imm cologne, offers with the exhibition of the chosen participants a first step into the interior design business and furthermore awards prizes for the best three products in the competition. For the first time, the

LivingKitchen Selection

will present an exhibition and an additional prize especially for kitchen products.

Eligible for the pre-selection are products from the interiors sector, including:

• Furniture • Home accessories • Lighting • Flooring • Wallpaper and Textiles • Kitchen and kitchen accessories • Smart Home

Submitted designs should have been produced within the last 12 months. Only prototype products may be submitted which have not yet been included in series productions, although those in the preparatory stages of series production may be eligible for entry.

Products submitted may have already been on show at other exhibitions or have been featured in publications. Not more than three products may be entered by the same applicant.

There is no entry fee

Eligibility

Open to design students and young designers from around the world who have gained their degree not more than three years ago, with a graduation date after

1 January 2015

.

Prize

From the applications received, the international jury will nominate a maximum of

20 products

, whose designers will be invited to take part in the competition and thereby in the exhibition at

imm cologne 2019

.

Out of these nominees the international jury of design experts will choose the three winners and a total of

9,000 EUR

(

approx. 10,465 USD

) will be awarded in prize money, of which 3,000 Euro are reserved for the 1st prize, 2,000 EUR for the 2nd prize, 1,000 EUR for the third and 3,000 EUR for the LivingKitchen Selection.
