The Hopper Prize is offering multiple individual artist grants totaling 5,000 USD awarded through an open call art competition juried by leading contemporary curators. They are committed to supporting artists from diverse cultural backgrounds at all stages of their professional careers. All artists are encouraged to apply.
The Prize accepts entries in all media:
• Painting
• Photography
• Sculpture
• Drawing
• Video
• Performance
• Conceptual
• Experimental
• Installation
You can apply as a team or collaborative project. Artists collectives are also encouraged to participate.
The Hopper Prize Spring 2020 grant winners will be selected by Amber Esseiva (Associate Curator at Institute for Contemporary Art VCU) and Leila Groth (Associate Curator for Contemporary Art at Baltimore Museum of Art).
Entry fee is 40 USD.
Eligibility
Open worldwide to all artists age 18 and older working in any media. There are no restrictions on genre, subject matter, or media.
Prize
• 5 artists will receive 1,000 USD each in unrestricted grant awards
• 30 artists will have their work archived at hopperprize.org
• Early applications will be considered for Instagram artist features @hopperprize
