David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation

welcomes entries from around the world in all artistic media for the

Wildlife Artist of the Year Competition

. Now in its 13th edition, this event is one of the most important in the wildlife art calendar.

There are eight categories:

• Animal Behaviour • Earth’s Wild Beauty • Human Impact (ages 16-22 only) • Into the Blue • Urban Wildlife • Facing Extinction (previously Vanishing Fast) • Wings, Feathered or Otherwise • Endangered: Wildlife in Motion

All categories cover all mediums, including sculpture and original prints (

excluding photography and film and electronically created artwork

). Entries must be work completed within the last five years by the entrants themselves and must be their own original work.

The judges are looking for not only beautifully executed original artworks but also an imaginative interpretation, moving away from the purely photographic to compositions with great characterization, showing imagination, originality and genuine creativity.

There is no maximum number of entries.

members, 16-22 years and over 60 is 10 GBP (

approx. 13 USD

) per entry, and for all others 25 GBP (

approx. 32 USD

) per entry.

Open worldwide to both amateur and professional artists alike aged 16 years or over.
