The FIBA Photo Contest 2026 is the 10th edition of the FIBA Foundation's international basketball photography competition. This year introduces three categories for the first time: Elite Basketball, Community Basketball and Vintage Basketball. Together they cover top-level competition, basketball in local communities and archival images documenting the history of the game.
Elite Basketball is for photographs of the sport at its highest level, including leading leagues, major tournaments and international championships. Community Basketball focuses on basketball played in streets, playgrounds, schools and local courts, as well as Basketball For Good initiatives and other community settings.
Vintage Basketball is dedicated to photographs from basketball's past, accepting archival images taken through to the early 2000s. Entries can document the game on courts and streets or in clubs, schools, tournaments and community gatherings. The winners are due to be announced in mid-December 2026, and selected photographs will appear in the annual FIBA Photo Book.
Entry fee: Free to enter.
Eligibility
Open to professional and amateur photographers worldwide, with entries accepted in one or more of the Elite Basketball, Community Basketball and Vintage Basketball categories.
Prize
The jury will select one winner in each of the three categories. Each category winner receives photography equipment worth CHF 2,000, a feature on FIBA social media and a place in the annual FIBA Photo Book. The jury will then choose the FIBA Shot of the Year from the three category-winning photographs, with the overall winner also receiving a five-day photographer experience at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027.
