Photographic art and the way it is presented to the public are changing.

Les Nuits Photographiques

is looking for new ways of showing photography and creativity with mixed media. The festival is the first dedicated to

photo-films

or pictures in motion.

The term “photo-films” (

or films-photographiques in French

) is used to encompass all forms of creation using photography that are presented and intended for the screen such as:

webdoc

,

slideshows

,

time lapse

,

stop motion

,

hybrid and experimental

uses of photography and multimedia.

Work will be chosen based on the originality of the artist’s vision and the creativity of their photo-film. The prize is

open to all works with no genre limitations

. Maximum length is 30 minutes.

Entry fee is 18 Euro (

approx. 20 USD

) for each work presented.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all amateurs and professional artists, regardless of age or nationality.

Prize

The festival’s artistic directors will select around

twenty photo-films

from the complete collection of work submitted. Each one selected will be screened during the projection evenings of the festival

A jury of professionals will award the

Prize of Les Nuits Photographiques

of 1500 Euro (

approx. 1,700 USD

) to one of the selected works. There will be also a

Special Prize

of 1000 Euro (

approx. 1,130 USD

) awarded by the team of

L’Oeil de la Photographie
