The 9th World Biennial of Student Photography, jointly organized by the University of Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, is now open for submissions, inviting young and talented photographers from around the world to participate in this prestigious international competition.
Since its inception in 2004, this biennial event has grown into a significant platform for fostering cross-cultural encounters and promoting the achievements of national and international photography students. It continues to be a remarkable showcase of diverse practices from art institutions worldwide, gathered through a public competition that culminates in an inspiring group exhibition.
Participants must submit original works that represent their own creations as part of their photographic practice within their educational institution. Each student is entitled to submit up to ten photographs, which should be part of their academic assignments.
There is no entry fee.
Eligibility
Open worldwide to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in academies and colleges where photography forms a part of the academic curriculum.
Prize
A total prize fund of 1,900 EUR will be awarded to the best three photographs, recognizing their exceptional artistic merits. Additionally, three honorable mentions will be acknowledged, and a Special prize will also be endowed.
The Biennial opening and awards ceremony will take place on 20th December 2023, at the Gallery of Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia. This culminating event provides an excellent opportunity for the selected artists to have their works exhibited and celebrated in a public forum, enhancing their visibility within the art community and beyond.
