? This is one of the most pressing challenges facing the ocean. Plastics pose a huge threat to the ocean ecosystem because they do not biodegrade. Instead, they continue to break into smaller and smaller pieces, which litter the ocean and its beaches.

, this year's contest asks you to explore the theme "

Presence of Future

", and call for young artists, thinkers, and activists who are concerned about the future of our human and natural communities to use their creative voices to explore, express, and advocate for issues related to climate change and our oceans.

There are five categories:

An individual or group (

ranging from two people to an entire class of students

) may submit art. Each Individual or Group who submits to the contest must have one or more adult sponsors (

usually, sponsors are teachers, a parent, or a mentor

). Any student may submit (

i.e., have their name included in

) only one entry per category.

There is no entry fee

Open to students in middle school or high school worldwide (

or International or Homeschool Equivalent

).
