Works carried out by students usually disappear into drawers after presentation to a relatively small college audience. There the work remains invisible. The Output International Student Award wants to change that.
Any work, which has been produced as a student project, is eligible for submission. The work may not be older than one year. The project does not have to be published. Work related to any area of design and architecture, such as: graphic design / architecture / product design / typography / photography / illustration / typeface design / multimedia, moving image and television graphics / experience design is eligible for submission.
All works (except interactive/large videos) must be submitted in digital format. Images must be jpg-images (800x600 pixel max.; 72 dpi; RGB). You will retain the copyright as author of the original design for your own purposes.
The :output award is organized by the :output foundation - a non-profit organization based in Amsterdam. The goal of the :output foundation is to foster new talents in design and architecture, and to initiate innovation projects by connecting the fields of education, business, politics and culture.
There is an entry fee of 30 Euro (approx. 41 USD) per work.
Eligibility
Anyone worldwide who is currently studying communication design, product design, architecture, interaction design or film at a university or a college is eligible to participate.
Students who have graduated within the last 12 months may also submit final degree works.
Prize
From all entries an internationally renowned jury will select about 80 projects to be published in the :output yearbook as well as in Germany’s leading design magazine ’Form’.
Moreover, all projects submitted to the :output competition will be eligible for the :output Grand Prix. The winner of the :output Grand Prix will be chosen by the jury and will receive a scholarship of 3,000 Euro (approx. 4,100 USD).
