The 20th Prisma Art Prize is an international annual art competition organized by Il Varco srl that promotes contemporary two-dimensional artistic practice. The prize is divided into four quarterly calls leading to a final annual exhibition in Rome, under the artistic direction of Marco Crispano and the curatorship of Domenico De Chirico.
The competition welcomes submissions in painting, drawing, engraving, illustration, printmaking, and other traditional two-dimensional media of any size and technique. Finalist works are presented in the online gallery and become eligible for the annual exhibition at Palazzo Merulana in Rome as well as additional partner opportunities.
By bringing together emerging and established visual artists from around the world, the Prisma Art Prize provides an international platform for showcasing contemporary artistic research. Its combination of professional curation, exhibition opportunities, publications, and long-term development initiatives makes it a valuable opportunity for artists working in traditional 2D visual arts.
Entry fee: €34 for 1–3 artworks, plus €5 for each additional artwork up to a maximum of 8 artworks.
Eligibility
Open to all living artists worldwide, without age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity restrictions, submitting original painting, drawing, engraving, illustration, printmaking, or other traditional 2D works.
Prize
The prize includes a total annual cash award of €2,000 distributed across four quarterly winners, a group exhibition at Palazzo Merulana in Rome, solo exhibition opportunities through the Isorrophia Gallery Prize and the Pallavicini–Dettori Prize, artist residency awards including Dar Meso, Casacon, and Osservatoriomaree residencies, publication in the exhibition catalogue, and artist interviews and other partner awards.
