Concrete in Life 2026/27 is an international photography competition organised by the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA). Now in its eighth year, the competition invites photographers to capture the role of concrete in everyday life. From bridges and city streets to buildings, public spaces and overlooked architectural details, the subject can be approached in many ways. Entries can be taken with a digital camera or smartphone, giving participants the freedom to explore familiar surroundings from their own perspective.

The competition has three categories. Urban and Infrastructure covers buildings, cityscapes and infrastructure in both urban and rural settings. Concrete in Daily Life focuses on people and their everyday interactions with concrete, while Concrete Beauty and Design explores the material's visual qualities through architecture, sculptures, landmarks and other structures. Photographs may capture anything from large engineering projects to small details, provided they relate to the competition's central theme.

For the 2026/27 edition, photographs must be submitted directly through the GCCA website. Images should be high resolution, in JPG, JPEG or PNG format, with a maximum file size of 15 MB. Each entry requires a title, a description of up to 100 words and the location where the photograph was taken. Entries will be assessed on photographic impact, creativity, composition, lighting and technical quality. Judging is scheduled for January to March 2027, with shortlisted photographs also taking part in a public vote. Winners are expected to be announced in spring 2027.

Entry fee: Free to enter. There are no entry or submission fees.
