Organised by
D&AD, the
Next Photographer Awardis a new award set to unearth the best new photographers and promote them back to the industry.
The
Awardoffers up and coming creative talent the chance to win invaluable industry mentorship from a wide portfolio of acclaimed photographers, agents and advertising agencies – giving emerging talent a platform to showcase their work in front of the people that matter most. In partnership with
Getty Images, the Awards also offers new photographers the chance to win a prize fund to realise a photography project.
Only one entry per entrant. Each entry must include
5 different pieces(
either shot separately or as part of a series). The pieces don't need to have a common theme.
Any type of photography is accepted:
fashion, advertising, art, portrait, design, editorial, etc. No need for photographs to have been commissioned or published. Photographs must have been completed after
January 1, 2015.
The jury will be looking for photographers with a unique and original vision, who use outstanding craft and technique to produce a brilliant photographic output.
Entry fee: 20 GBP / 37 USD / 32 EUR.
Eligibility
Open worldwide to anyone but established photographers. If the majority (
over 50%) of your income has been from your own photography for over 3 years, you don't qualify.
There's no age limit to enter, but you must be out of full-time education.
Prize
Shortlisted photographers will get mentored by high profile photographers, agents and art buyers, and will have their photos exhibited in a central London venue and promoted internationally on the
D&ADand
Getty Imagesplatforms.
Moreover, shortlisted photographers have the opportunity to apply for a prize fund of
5000 USDfrom
Getty Imagesto go towards realising their dream photography project.
The winner will be awarded a
D&AD Next Photographer Pencil, offered a ticket and flights to attended the
D&AD Awards Ceremonyin
April 2017, and included in the
D&AD Annual 2017.
